Jon “Thor” Blank

Jon “Thor” Blank is a 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu black belt under Zach Maslany and Eddie Bravo. Blank started wrestling at 10 years old, going on to earn the honors of being a District 11 Champion, 2 time PIAA State Qualifier, 2 time Colonial league Champion, and multiple time MAWA Champion. After graduating high school, Blank was left looking for his next challenge and was introduced to 10th Planet Bethlehem by his good friends, Andrew and Kevin Jones, who were already training there. 10th Planet was perfect for him since it is all no gi based and he never really had an interest in training in the gi, partly due to his wrestling background. Although he only really began training jiu jitsu in 2014, Jon has gone on to make quite the name for himself on the jiu jitsu competition scene, particularly in the submission only format. Some of his most notable achievements were winning Ultimate Mat Warriors as a purple belt and, as a brown belt, winning the first 16-man combat jiu jitsu tournament at EBI 17 to earn the middleweight title with all 4 wins by submission. He also was a late replacement in the Combat Jiu Jitsu Fight Night absolute tournament, submitting UFC veteran Kevin Casey by heel hook to make it to the finals. He has appeared on stages such as the RISE Invitational, Fight 2 Win, Kasai Pro, Finishers Sub Only, and more. He was in the top 25 pound for pound list for all of the 10th Planet schools for 3 years straight. He also took 4th place at his ADCC debut in Anaheim in 2019, taking out Rustam Chsiev and Murillo Santana to make it to the semi finals. Through all of his training, teaching, and competing, Jon is one of the nicest and most humble guys you could possibly meet, regardless of how intimidating he can appear.
